So after a little bit of exploring and using #Bonfire, I think my conclusion is it doesn't quite meet my needs. I'm basically aiming for a low resource Mastodon experience with phanpy.social, and Bonfire's social flavour isn't there yet. I'd love to work with them as a user, possibly as a code contributor, but I've been putting a lot onto my plate lately. Also, the philosophy they seem to be working on is a focus on building community, which I don't really need right now.

I'll keep this instance up as long as it's not a hassle to do so, and I'll for sure keep an eye on the project. Onward to exploring Akkoma at @serra@social.jump-spider.com

I really want to like #Bonfire. (Not sure why, tbh) The UI compared to Phanpy is lacking, and my instance isn't sending some media to Phanpy as a client for some reason. Might jump into the matrix chat to try to get help.

So far, I like #Bonfire, but it's lacking in a few ways. The appearance setting isn't sticking, pinned posts get pinned to the entire instance? I don't think I'll migrate my floofy.tech account, but I'll keep it up and see how things go. I do like that it's very modular and hackable, but I have too many projects right now as is.

A quick #introduction post while testing out Bonfire. I recently rediscovered my passion for #programming, especially in #Elixir for an open source project within the #Matrix community. I'm #nonbinary, #queer, #polyamorous, etc, etc, labels, labels, labels. I may migrate my account from @jump_spider@floofy.tech eventually.
