Gender is such an interesting thing! For the time I was just a trans man, the thought of going on birth control gave me massive dysphoria. Between that(and the fact I'd had bad experiences on it before), I avoided it and used other methods of contraception.
Recently though, as many of you know, I discovered that I'm bigender(trans man and woman), and have since begun my "girl era." Today, even though I am 46, and have very little chance of falling pregnant due to PCOS, age etc, I made the decision to go on birth control....and it was as gender affirming to my girl self as when I began my masculine transition and started testosterone(and gave me just as much gender euphoria too).
I'm sharing my journey as best I can here because it's an example of how gender journeys can be different for everyone, how things can shift over time in regards to gender identity, as well as the things that bring gender affirmation/euphoria, and that it's okay if that happens. Perhaps it might help someone else out there somehow(or at the very least be interesting to you😉).
I'm not looking for *advice* thanks, but you're very welcome to cheer me on in comments, and ask respectful questions💖☺️ Boosts also welcome and appreciated.
