The trans femme urge to suddenly not be ugly any more.
@zkat Kind of weird, I was literally just behind someone with the same bumper sticker. It's common enough that it's just coincidence, but still weird timing.
@sky Congrats and/or condolances? But more seriously, get that bag.
Adulthood is having a round table discussion on laundry hampers over tea and coffee in the morning.
Damn you, Datadog
So far in my new home state, I've come across a scammer, someone who couldn't spell to the point it made it difficult to understand their texts, a budding cult leader, and one mostly normal person who asked the stereotypical cis questions of a trans person.
But hey, at least this is more conversations than I would have gotten in the same time frame back in Georgia.
New phone new phone new phone
Pretty productive weekend despite sleeping most of the day on Saturday. Got my couch and tv put together! Definitely needed help from one of the roommates though.
Just wow, I just saw a targeted ad for shapewear specifically for trans women. The brand is even called unclockable. I would have never expected that.
@root Got em
Just had to parse out a code review from chatgpt, and it was like half right? Ultimately, it pointed out something that could be cleaner, but its explanation for why it called it out had nothing to with clean code, it was claiming a bug was being introduced, when that wasn't the case.
Of course, change any indication that I'm assigning agency to the AI output to the more technical and correct language.
The more I think about it, the more I hate Tailwind
Was feeling super anxious in bed last night, that devolved into suicidal ideation. I can't shake the feeling that I'm failing at being an adult, be it at work or existing as a roommate to my chosen family now. It often feels like all I contribute to anyone is money, and well, with my soulmate designated as my beneficiary for my life insurance, it's like my death would be a greater boon than life.
Talked about it with her this morning and she reassured me that's not the case and that I'm doing great. That did make me feel a little better, but dang, I hope the exercise I started helps with the brain chemicals soon.
Oh cool, #Signal now has a secure backup service that you can optionally pay $2/mo to backup everything
Did the phanpy mobile UI hide the content warning field somewhere?
Ya dude, I'm sure your personal at-home self-hosting server serves the same kind of traffic patterns that Signal does. Same use cases even. You should totally not recommend Signal anymore because they use cloud providers.
Goddamn, I'm all for self-hosting and decentralization but some of y'all live in a different reality.
@boardgamebreakdown Dived into Brandon Sanderson's stuff yet? The Mistborn series is a good starting place. It's a bit darker fantasy, and it's a complete series, unlike his ongoing Stormlight Archives series.
Also, the Broken Earth trilogy by NK Jamisen is fantastic. Also fantasy, and a poignant story of ostracization and generational trauma and breaking cycles.
@boardgamebreakdown A break from the sprawling epics might be good! I recommend the Monk and Robot duology by Becky Chambers. Both books are very light, low-stakes and just so good imo.
